When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible. We encourage senders to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike.
The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is partnering with the National Council of PTAs on their Snowflakes for Sandy Hook project. The Huntsville Library is collecting as many unique paper snowflakes as possible to send to the Sandy Hook PTA. They will use these snowflakes to decorate the new school the Sandy Hook children will be attending after the holidays. You can read more about this on the National Council of PTAs website: http://www.pta.org/parents/content.cfm?ItemNumber=3459
The Youth Services Department at the main library, 915 Monroe St., is where you can drop off your snow flakes. If you have paper snowflakes that you would like to donate to this cause, please bring them to the main library by Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 5 p.m.
