(WENN) - Wade Hayes has opened up about his terrifying cancer diagnosis in a new song.
The country star was told by doctors he had colon cancer last year and he subsequently underwent surgery in an effort to beat the deadly disease.
Hayes told fans in March he had been declared "tumor free", and he poured out the emotion of his cancer fight as he recorded new track "Is It Already Time?"
He tells Country Weekly magazine, "It's about my experience when I figured out I really was in trouble. Every word of the song is true."
