On a break from filming The Voice, Blake Shelton spent Saturday in Dallas where he braved a rain-soaked set to help raise more than $1.2 million for the American Cancer Society. According to the Dallas Morning News, Blake was forced to perform solo as the grounds at the Cattle Baron’s Ball were too muddy to accommodate his band’s equipment.

Blake joked apologetically, “I don’t know how to play a lot of my songs. So, y’all are gonna drink and act like you like it and I’m gonna play guitar and act like I’m good at it.”

The Voice’s blind auditions continue Monday, and Shelton’s new album Cheers, It’s Christmas lands Tuesday.
