About Stuart

I guess you could consider me one of the elders of the air staff, celebrating over 19 years with WDRM.  I am one of the few staffers born and raised right here in the Tennessee Valley, graduating from Huntsville High School (Go Panthers!) and the University of North Alabama (Go Lions!).

I'm married with 2 boys and a girl.  Favorite artists?  Well, I'm from the old school with Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Alabama, and George Strait on my list, but I do enjoy some of the newer stuff from Gretchen Wilson and Dierks Bentley.

I really enjoy entertaining you at night and hope you'll e-mail me sometime.

KENNY CHESNEY: Living Life Through a Song

Kenny Chesney's latest number-one hit, "Better As a Memory," is somewhat autobiographical. Even though he didn't write it, he says at times in his life he definitely was the guy in the song. Kenny says, "Like the old Mac Davis song 'Baby Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me,' you know, this is kind of that song, but in a more...in a little bit deeper of a way, you know."

TIM McGRAW: New CD in the Works

Tim McGraw is working on a new C-D, which his camp says he hopes to release later this year. CountryHound-dot-com reports that Tim told fans at a performance at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas that a new album would be coming, but was sketchy about the details. Tim performed three songs during his set -- "Southern Boy," You Had to Be There" and "Still," all of which may surface on the new disc.

TOBY KEITH: Honored for Work With USO

A resolution in the House of Representatives will honor Toby Keith for his commitment to America's armed forces. Toby has performed 118 shows for more than 135-thousand service men and women all over the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan. Toby says, "I have to say that the real glory belongs to those men and women I've met who leave their families and put it on the line for the rest of us. Getting to visit with them once a year is the biggest honor for me, and I will continue to encourage other artists and performers to make that U-S-O trip."

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Puppy No More

Carrie Underwood has blossomed from a shy college kid to a superstar in a few short years. Though her transformation has been quite public, Carrie says most people her age go through personal and emotional changes. She told us, "I feel a lot more comfortable with myself being in front of people. Still working on it, of course. I don't feel like such a lost little puppy anymore."

TAYLOR SWIFT: Rubbing Elbows With the Stars

Taylor Swift returned from her trip to New York, where she taped M-T-V's T-R-L with a few new friends, including actors Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell. But the highlight of her week was meeting urban star Rihanna. In her online blog she writes, "She's amazing and gorgeous and so cool to talk to...We talked backstage during commercial breaks and she was real and outgoing and funny. Yay!" Taylor is nominated for Breakthrough Artist at this year's Teen Choice Awards airing August 6th at 7:00 p-m [CT] on FOX.

TOBY KEITH: Toby and Ted's Excellent Adventure

Among Toby Keith's co-stars in his Beer for My Horses movie is rocker and N-R-A advocate Ted Nugent -- who provided a bit of off-screen entertainment for those on the set. Toby tells us, "Ted had a scene where he shoots a guy with a bow and arrow, and he's leaving the set and a cottontail jumps up and crosses the set -- pow! And he guts him a rabbit right in front of everybody." Beer for My Horses hits theaters August 8th.
